Here’s a track from an upcoming Woody Allen stand-up reissue
Regardless of what you might think about Woody Allen or his movies now, long ago he made pretty good stand-up records. And three of those records, all recorded between 1964 and 1968, are getting a January 13 reissue as The Stand-Up Years via Razor And Tie. Packaged with bonus material and over 20 minutes of audio excerpts from Woody Allen: A Documentary, the record is now available to pre-order via Amazon, just in time for whatever holidays you celebrate.
Below, The A.V. Club has the exclusive premiere of “The Village,” a short clip from that aforementioned audio commentary. In it, Allen talks about his start in New York’s comedy scene, as well as his jokey intersection with Bill Cosby.
