Here’s a trailer for Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter, Studio Ghibli’s new Amazon series

If there’s one thing you can count on when there’s a never-ending feud between two parties, it’s that the children of those two parties will find a way to put aside their differences and become best friends—or at least that’s how it always works in fiction. That’s the basic setup for Ronja, The Robbers Daughter, a new animated series coming to Amazon Prime from legendary anime house Studio Ghibli. The series is about a little girl who befriends the son of a rival tribe’s leader, going against the wishes of her own father, and this trailer makes it look like it will be a nice, heartwarming story about the power of friendship. The description on the YouTube page describes it as an “epic 26-part story,” though, so maybe some crazy stuff goes down as the series goes on (the quick appearance of a bird lady seems to back that up).

Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter will premiere on Amazon Prime on January 27.
