Here’s an exclusive clip of Quentin Tarantino talking about Ennio Morricone’s Hateful Eight score

In the lead-up to the release of The Hateful Eight, it seemed like there was just as much hype for the soundtrack as there was for the film itself. That was hardly surprising, though, given the special attention that Hateful Eight director Quentin Tarantino tends to give his soundtracks, as well as the fact that legendary composer Ennio Morricone wrote the score. Now, to celebrate the recent release of Third Man Records’ Collectors Edition vinyl version of the Hateful Eight soundtrack, the people behind the film have released this exclusive clip of Tarantino talking about Morricone’s work and how important it is to him that was recorded before a live performance of the soundtrack at London’s Abbey Road studios.

During the chat, Tarantino refers to Morricone as his favorite composer and suggests that he was more excited to see the soundtrack performed than he was for the film’s actual premiere, which is a pretty ringing endorsement as far as a director talking about the score of his own film goes.
