Here’s an exclusive deleted scene from the Selma Blu-ray

Ava DuVernay’s Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic Selma is available for digital download as of today, and Paramount shared this exclusive deleted scene in anticipation of the film’s Blu-ray combo pack release on May 5th.

Although it’s less than two minutes long, the clip highlights many of the aspects that earned Selma critical praise: The scene focuses not only on King (David Oyelowo), but also on the lesser-known members of the Civil Rights movement, particularly the female ones. Here Alabama activist Amelia Boynton Robinson (Orange Is The New Black’s Lorraine Toussaint) confronts a condescending police chief about the fact that King is building on activism that was happening in Selma long before his arrival.

In addition to deleted and extended scenes, the Blu-ray will also feature commentary from DuVernay and Oyelowo, as well as behind-the-scenes documentaries, historical newsreels, and more.
