Mark Kozelek’s Sun Kil Moon has released its much-ballyhooed anti-War On Drugs track, and it’s unsurprisingly mean-spirited. In “War On Drugs: Suck My Cock,” Kozelek says that—while they’re “nice”—the group is also “the whitest band” Kozelek has “ever heard.” He also rags on the band’s output, singing, “To make three albums took ’em nine fuckin’ years.”
Kozelek also uses “WOD: SMC” to rail on the crowd at his Hopscotch Music Festival performance earlier this fall—where he called them “fuckin’ hillbillies” while admonishing them to “shut the fuck up”—as well as the Indy Week writer who initially reported his on-stage meltdown, whom he dismisses as “some spoiled bitch rich kid blogger brat.”
Lest anyone start believing that Kozelek is all Grinch, his goddamn Christmas album, Sings Christmas Carols, has received a new release date of November 4. Kozelek will also be touring this fall, should anyone want to see him be a dick in person. Dates are below.
