Here’s the awesome set list for Guardians Vol. 2’s mixtape

Near the end of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finally unwraps the birthday gift his mother gave him all those years ago, and it’s another awesome mixtape. The first one played throughout the movie, providing delightful musical accompaniment for Star-Lord’s scavenging early on, so naturally, everyone’s been very curious about the new set list. Marvel has helpfully released the full song list, which Twitter has already started disseminating:

“Mr. Blue Sky” certainly seems like a natural fit for the film’s themes, as does Cat Stevens’ “Father And Son,” which will presumably play when Peter and Ego (Kurt Russell) meet for the first time. And Sam Cooke’s “Bring it On Home to Mefeatures in the new TV spot, which sees Peter once again trying to make the moves on Gamora (Zoe Saldana).

Rolling Stone has an in-depth article on the mixtape/soundtrack, including insights from director James Gunn about what the new batch of tunes tells us about Peter’s mother: “She’s a very quirky, young girl who fell in love with, you know, as it ends up, an alien. And falling in love with an alien is right up there in Meredith Quill’s alley. She’s an oddball, like her son.”

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 cues up May 5.
