Here’s the billboard proof of Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s Lifetime movie
Here’s yet another update on that Will Ferrell-Kristen Wiig Lifetime movie that Ferrell promoted and subsequently abandoned: A billboard for A Deadly Adoption was just spotted on Hollywood Boulevard and saved for posterity via a tweet by The Hollywood Reporter. Though the billboard incorrectly lists the June 20 air date as a Sunday, the movie will in fact premiere on the day before Father’s Day (look it up).
Whenever it finally airs, A Deadly Adoption will tell the story of an affluent couple (played by Ferrell and Wiig) who take in a pregnant woman with the hopes of eventually adopting her baby. Things will get nasty—possibly even deadly—when someone goes back on their promise. The screenplay was written by Andrew Steele, who wrote Ferrell and Wiig’s last TV adventure, The Spoils Of Babylon.
So what can we glean from the stories-high ad? Well, Ferrell and Wiig have top billing, so they probably won’t just appear as floating heads in the film. There’s also a pregnant woman standing at a dock, but she’s looking at the viewer and not up at the Ferrell and Wiig heads, which might mean that she has no idea what she’s in for. Finally there’s the tagline,“The birth of a plan gone wrong,” which could just be Lifetime’s marketing people thinking out loud.
Jessica Lowndes (90210), who plays the pregnant woman, shared the billboard picture and her participation in the film on Instagram, with the admonition that we should “Forget everything you think you know about Lifetime movies.” As if that were even possible.
