Here’s the first full teaser for Vinyl, the new show from Martin Scorsese and Boardwalk Empire’s Terence Winter

Yesterday we reported on a short, mood-setting teaser for HBO’s new series Vinyl, a co-production from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Boardwalk Empire’s Terence Winter. But while the brief clip was certainly evocative—of drums, drugs, and lips, specifically—it was light on information about what the show, which stars Boardwalk’s Bobby Cannavale, was actually about.

HBO has been quick to rectify that mystery, though, putting out information today and dropping a new, more elaborate teaser trailer, which, while still heavily focused on big images over actual information, does at least feature some narration from Cannavale’s character, record label president Richie Finestra. While the New York Dolls’ “Personality Crisis” growls underneath, Cannavale gives a bravado-laden speech, possibly reflecting his character’s press-release-described role as someone “who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path.” (His path also appears to feature a lot of cocaine.)

Meanwhile, the camera flashes around frenetically, giving brief glimpses of co-stars Olivia Wilde, Ato Essandoh, and a gleefully wig-clad Ray Romano. Other cast members in the series, who may or may not be on the screen for up to half-a-second at a time in the teaser, include Max Casella, P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, Mick Jagger’s son James Jagger, and Paul Ben-Victor. Vinyl, which is currently planned for a 10-episode run, is set to debut some time in 2016.
