Here’s the first teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action Beauty And The Beast

A teaser trailer has been released for Disney’s live-action Beauty And The Beast, directed by Bill Condon. It’s a teaser, so don’t expect to get too much out of it (the first nine seconds are literally just the Disney logo). It mostly just establishes the grandiose aesthetics of the film, with sweeping shots of a magnificent palace as it withers away and becomes cobwebbed and dim. Then we hear some voices—Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellan as Lumiére the talking candlestick and Cogsworth the talking clock, respectively. “What if she is the one?” Lumiére asks. It’s a tale as old as time, or whatever.

Enter: Emma Watson as Belle, whose face only appears in a single obscured shot before the teaser cuts to a title card that merely says Be Our Guest and the release date of the film. Such a tease. Beauty And The Beast also stars Stanley Tucci as a talking grand piano named Cadenza, Emma Thompson as the talking teapot Mrs. Potts, Kevin Kline as Belle’s father, Josh Gad as LeFou, and Luke Evans as Gaston. The hideous beast that is Dan Stevens will play the titular role opposite Watson. He is not in the teaser, but his claw marks are prominently featured.
