Here’s the harrowing trailer for HBO’s Eagles Of Death Metal documentary

It’s been 14 months since armed gunmen invaded Paris’ Bataclan concert hall on November 13, 2015, killing 89 people during an Eagles Of Death Metal concert. Now, HBO has released the first trailer for its upcoming documentary about the attack and its aftermath, Eagles Of Death Metal: Nos Amis.

Opening with footage of the raucous concert in the moments shortly before the attack began, the trailer is a tense package, highlighting interviews with U2’s Bono and Eagles members Josh Homme and an emotional Jesse Hughes. Hughes has publicly struggled in the wake of the traumatic experience, feuding with the Bataclan over accusations against its security members. (The documentary was apparently filmed three months after the attack, before the worst of Hughes’ disagreements with the venue broke out.) It’s not clear how much of that struggle the documentary will focus on; the general tone (and subtitle, which translates to “Our Friends” in French) suggests a more uplifting, healing approach to the event. Nos Amis debuts on HBO on February 13.
