Here's a clip from the new Antony And The Johnsons movie
Antony And The Johnsons will release a movie called Turning today (but only in New York so far). Created in collaboration with video artist Charles Atlas, the film is half concert documentary, half exploration of the transgendered experience. The project comes out of a series of concerts Antony performed across Europe in 2006, showcasing issues of gender identity. The clip out today has an interview with transgendered model Joey Gabriel discussing her childhood, crosscut with Antony's haunting performance of "Hope There's Someone." (Gabriel appeared in the video for "Hope There's Someone" when it debuted in 2005.) The movie will have a small release in the UK in late November, after its run in New York, where screenings will be moderated by guest panelists (including Antony himself).
