Rubblebucket’s new EP, Save Charlie, won’t be out until Oct. 1 on Communion Records, but The A.V. Club has the exclusive premiere of one of the album’s tracks, “What A Fool Believes,” below. On this track, as well as on the rest of the EP, the Brooklyn band’s output falls somewhere between psych rock and dance pop, attempting, somehow to land on the “smile-inducing point on the tangent that connects Bjork and Broken Social Scene,” according to press materials.
Save Charlie’s release corresponds with the kickoff of the Communion Tour, which finds Rubblebucket, Roadkill Ghost Choir, Willy Mason, and Yacht Club DJs stopping in nine different cities across the states. A full list of those dates is below.
It’s worth noting that Mumford & Son keyboardist Ben Lovett is one of Communion’s co-founders, and is thus a strong proponent of Rubblebucket. If you like one group, you may just like the other. Quoth Lovett:
