Here's a running list of Quibi trailers to help you navigate the mobile streamer
Quibi, the short-form streaming service with billions in backing, has been slowly amassing an army of talent over the last year, with names like Steven Spielberg, Paul Feig, Chrissy Teigen, Chance The Rapper, and Lena Waithe all committed to telling both scripted and unscripted stories in 10-minute chunks.
The service made a debut of sorts during the Super Bowl, releasing a short clip that tried to turn “Quibi” into a measurement of time. It then dropped a handful of ads during the Oscars that further sought to clarify its “quick bite” concept. Alas, they don’t seem to be going over so well, but we’re still curious about the content—like, just look at all this. Quibi’s since chased these introductory ads with trailers for its shows, and it’s a guarantee that many more are soon to follow.
As such, we decided to compile each and every sneak peek, which you can browse below. If you like what you see, sign up here. The service comes either with ads ($4.99 per month) or without ($7.99 per month).
#FreeRayshawn
Laurence Fishburne and Homecoming’s Stephan James lead this tense thriller about an Iraq War veteran whose standoff with police sparks a national fervor. Training Day and Southpaw director Antoine Fuqua serves as an executive producer on the project.
&Music
&Music is a docuseries chronicling the teams behind famous artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Anderson .Paak, Ariana Grande, YG, Martin Garrix, and J Balvin. “From light directors to choreographers, audio engineers to songwriters and beyond,” reads a press release, “the series follows subjects who not only enhance music, but experience it from entirely different perspectives.”
50 States Of Fright
50 States Of Fright, an anthology of horror shorts from Sam Raimi, weaves regional folklore into its bite-sized tales. There’s plenty of grotesque imagery in the above clip, from a ravenous ball of twine to woman’s face that splits to reveal a demonic presence beneath.
Agua Donkeys
We know comedians MP Cunningham and Jeremy Jackson are playing pool cleaners in this comedic series, which was based on a short film of the same name. Funny Or Die produces the Utah-set series, which co-stars Baby Darrington and Luke Jackson.
Barkitecture
Quibi’s most unabashedly adorable show has got to be Barkitecture, in which privileged pups get to lounge and shit in luxury doghouses customized just for them (and their owners). Interior designer Delia Kenza leads the charge, while The Bachelorette breakout (and former Gigi Hadid flame) Tyler Cameron does the dirty work. The dogs are very good.
Chrissy’s Court
We get it. Chrissy Teigan is funny and, despite being absurdly wealthy, appears to be a relatable human being. Will those qualities make her a worthy TV judge? Who thought being a judge would be a suitable vessel for her? We don’t quite get this one, but it seems fun?
Cup Of Joe
Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers tours the world with the help of some famous people, including in one episode the, uh, Jonas Brothers and in another his wife, Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner. Tina Fey, Matthew McConaughey, and Jack Black also pop up.
Dishmantled
In what’s got to be the most demeaning cooking show of all time, Dishmantled douses chefs in a cannon’s worth of food before tasking them with making a dish out of it. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Tituss Burgess hosts, and guests include Antoni Porowski, Michael Che, Michelle Buteau, and Dan Levy.
Dummy
Anna Kendrick stars in this series as a writer who forges a kinship with her boyfriend’s sex doll. Donal Logue and Meredith Hagner co-star in the series, which comes from Cody Heller, who apparently was inspired by real-life experiences related to her husband, Rick And Morty co-creator Dan Harmon.
Elba Vs. Block
“We’re challenging each other to automobile skill tests!” Hollywood hunk Idris Elba says in his luscious cockney accent, teasing a show in which he and rally driver Ken Block go vroom-vroom real fast. Who’s the best driver? Quibi asks in the synopsis. Probably the professional race car driver, we reply. Just a guess.
Fierce Queens
Reese Witherspoon presents and narrates this nature documentary series, which centers on the females of the animal kingdom and, in this trailer, seems to take immense joy in watching them tear other animals to pieces. Girl power? Prolific nature producer Jo Shinner serves as an executive producer.
Fight Like A Girl
WWE women’s wrestling has evolved over the last decade, with grapplers like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Alexa Bliss helping to lead the charge. In this series, these wrestlers and more will each team with a young woman to show them the ropes and help them overcome obstacles.
Flipped
If HGTV has taught us anything, it’s that home renovation is a lucrative business. Especially when, as happens with Will Forte and Kaitlin Olson in Flipped, you find stacks of drug money in the walls. Unfortunately, a kingpin played by Arturo Castro is onto them, promising their lives in exchange for a renovation job on his own home. Andy Garcia and Eva Longoria co-star in the comedy.
Floored
Liza Koshy hosts this show where professional dancers try to land their routines atop a moving floor while getting slammed left and right by gigantic balls and stuffed animals. This shit looks hilarious.
The Fugitive
Dr. Richard Kimble is here reimagined as Mike Ferro (Boyd Holbrook), an ex-con with a wife and daughter who, after being falsely accused of planting a bomb, must rush to prove his innocence before he’s arrested. The synopsis makes it sound as if an inaccurate tweet is to blame for his predicament, which makes him a wanted man both by the police and the Extremely Online. A true nightmare! Kiefer Sutherland co-stars as the “legendary cop” leading the hunt for him.
Gayme Show
In each episode of this fabulous competition series, two straight-identifying contestants compete to see who will be crowed “gay as fuck” by a panel that features guests like Rachel Bloom and Trixie Mattel.
Gone Mental
Mentalist Lior Suchard terrifies the likes of Ben Stiller, Kate Hudson, Rob Gronkowski, and a whole bunch of WWE superstars by reading their minds and just generally fucking with them.
I Promise
I Promise is an inspirational documentary series following the first academic year inside the I Promise School in Akron, OH, founded in part by LeBron James. Per Variety, it will explore the “day-to-day trials, triumphs and life-changing impact of the school staff, students and families working together in a family-first educational environment that embraces the trauma and challenges many face in Akron.”
Iron Sharpens Iron
Two top-tier athletes from different sports train one another in this series produced by iconic quarterback Cam Newton. Participants include MMA fighter Amanda Nunes, boxer Deontay Wilder, golfer Michelle Wie, skateboarder Nyjah Huston, and many more.
Let’s Roll With Tony Greenhand
Let’s Roll With Tony Greenhand looks as obnoxious as it does cool. This guy makes smokeable art out of weed, then smokes with a bunch of famous people.
Most Dangerous Game
Most Dangerous Game or, as we’ll call it, The Running Man 2.0, follows Luke Hemsworth’s Dodge Maynard (what a name!) as he accepts an offer from an eccentric millionaire to play a “deadly game where he soon discovers that he’s not the hunter…but the prey.”
Murder House Flip
At first glance, Murder House Flip seems like a parody series in the vein of Burning Love, until you realize that no, these are real renovation experts and real people living in real murder houses. It comes from a CSI producer, and, per a synopsis, will feature renovation experts Mikel Welch and Joelle Uzyel working “to remove the stains of the past and take these homes from morbid to marvelous.” Ew.
Nightgowns With Sasha Velour
Sasha Velour, the season nine winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is translating her stage show, Nightgowns, to the Quibi format across eight episodes. Deadline describes it as being as much a “performance documentary” as it is a personal portrait of the artist. Different performers will be highlighted in each episode, with music video veteran Sophie Muller stepping in to direct them in a 2 to 3-minute performance.
Nikki Fre$h
Nicole Richie stars as a heightened version of herself in Nikki Fre$h, a mockumentary in which she lampoons wellness culture via her rap persona, who makes “conscious trap” for everybody, but mostly “moms and gays.” Bill Nye guest stars, as does her dad, Lionel Richie, and husband, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte.
Prodigy
Megan Rapinoe, who’s known for both her soccer skills and her LGBT advocacy, hosts an 8-part docuseries profiling young athletes who, per Deadline, “are set to become the next superstars in their respective sports.” Rapinoe provides on-camera commentary into the stories, which encompass basketball, track and field, swimming, football, and more.
Punk’d
Chance The Rapper punking Megan Thee Stallion while wearing a hat that actually faces the right direction already makes his Punk’d better than the Ashton Kutcher one.
Run This City
Directed by Brent Hodge (I Am Chris Farley, A Brony Tale), Run This City follows Jasiel Correia II, the youngest mayor ever elected to office. The politician, who was elected mayor of Fall River, Massachusetts, in 2016, also faced charges of fraud and extortion, and the documentary will explore his efforts to fight the charges.
The Sauce
Usher executive producers this dance competition that travels from city to city offering $25,000 to one of two twinkle-toed teams.
Shape Of Pasta
Chef Evan Funke travels through Italy in this food travel series, heading to small towns to learn about rare pasta shapes and the histories contained within their little pockets of dough.
Singled Out
Hustlers’ Keke Palmer and comedian Joel Kim Booster host this reboot of the old MTV dating show, which aims to entice the modern age by hooking up singles of all genders and sexual preferences.
SKRRT With Offset
This show is quite literally Offset from Migos driving fast cars and sometimes shooting them with assault weapons. That’s it, that’s the show.
The Stranger
Maika Monroe and Dane DeHaan star in this Uber-iffic riff on The Hitcher, which finds Monroe’s rideshare driver pursued by a charming serial killer played by DeHaan. Veena Sud, creator of The Killing, wrote, directed, and executive produced the series.
Survive
Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner and Straight Outta Compton’s Corey Hawkins co-star in Survive, a—surprise!—survival drama about plane crash survivors—one of which is struggling with mental illness issues—trying to navigate their way back to civilization without eating each other. The series is based on Alex Morel’s 2012 novel of the same name, and will premiere with the service’s launch on April 6.
Thanks A Million
Here’s a show we can get behind: Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Bell, Tracy Morgan, and Nick Jonas give $100,000 to “an unsuspecting individual who has had a positive impact on their lives.” That person then splits that money with a person of their choice, and so on. Give away your money, celebs! You don’t need that much!
When The Streetlights Go On
A “coming-of-age murder mystery” adapted from a Black List script, When The Streetlights Go On wraps up Queen Latifah, Mark Duplass, Sam Strike, and It’s Chosen Jacobs in its small-town tale.
You Ain’t Got These
“Sneakers are the only economic good that unites the richest of the rich and poorest of the poor,” Hasan Minhaj says in this trailer for Lena Waithe’s dive into sneaker culture, which looks to be a hell of a lot more interesting than it might appear on its surface. “Who owns this shit?” she asks. “The culture or the brand?” Good question.
Centerpiece
Maurice Harris, florist to the stars, invites celebrity guests for an in-depth chat in order to create elaborate floral arrangements that hopefully capture their essence. Rashida Jones, Maya Rudolph, and Jeremy O. Harris are just a few of the big-name hopefuls to appear in the official trailer, but if you’re not easily impressed by the star power, maybe the indulgent, utterly mesmerizing cinematography will hold your interest. Way to jazz up the place, Harris!
