Here's a teaser for BBC and HBO's new adaptation of His Dark Materials 

Remember The Golden Compass, that movie with Daniel Craig and an armored polar bear? Well, forget everything you may remember about it, because BBC, HBO, New Line, and Bad Wolf are here with a new adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials series (the same books that The Golden Compass was based on). Still holding onto your affections for the last movie? Well, this new version has James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, all of whom are better than some old CG polar bear. This teaser doesn’t tell us much beyond who is in the cast, but it is a damn good cast. Deadline says this is one of the biggest and “most expensive” dramas in British history, so you’d think they could afford to show off a little bit more, but we’re not going to tell the BBC what to do with its money. That’s for the people who actually pay for one of those TV licenses.

Anyway, His Dark Materials will be on BBC “soon,” so its HBO premiere will probably also be “soon.”
