Here's everything that went into Arya and Brienne's sword duel
Game Of Thrones is on hiatus for the time being, but HBO is keeping the battle for Westeros fresh in our helmets with behind-the-scenes footage of some of the last season’s best moments. One of those was undoubtedly the spontaneous sparring session between Arya and Brienne, two of the series’ most beloved badasses.
The above video highlights the physical differences between the two characters, and delves into how the fight “tells the story of two very different warriors,” a point Maisie Williams hammers home by pointing out how Gwendoline Christie stands “far over a foot taller than me.” (Is it just us, or does it seem more than that on-screen?) We also hear from the episode’s stunt coordinator and director of photography, and get to see Arya’s stunt double landing one hell of a backflip.
The best part, though? The tiny smiles creeping onto Williams’ and Christie’s faces when striking the final pose. If there’s one thing that all this behind-the-scenes Thrones footage has shown us, it’s that everyone seems to be having the time of their lives.
Revisit the original fight below now that you know how it all came together:

Okay, we’re done now.
