Here's our first look at spooky superhero Ellen Page and the rest of Netflix's Umbrella Academy

Although we carried exclusive coverage of its comic book predecessor just the other day, it’s been a few months since we’d gotten any new or concrete information about Netflix’s latest superhero show, Umbrella Academy. Based on a series of comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, the series focuses on a fractured family of adopted superheroes/super-assassins, some of whom have powers bordering on world-ending. Also, one of them is Ellen Page.

That latter fact has never been clearer than it was today, when the streaming service tweeted out the first cast photo from the upcoming series, along with an announcement that it’ll be arriving some time in 2019. The picture itself isn’t the most revealing image ever dropped on the internet—we can confirm that several of the figures in the picture are people, and that umbrellas are absolutely involved—but it is evidence that the show is moving steadily forward, with Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Page herself all displaying upwards of 20 percent of their human faces for our viewing delight. (Meanwhile, you might be counting umbrellas and wondering “Where is Number 6?”, in which case, you should probably check out Way and Bá’s earlier UA books; they’re pretty good!)
