Here's professional R.E.M. fan Adam Scott hiding in the video for 1992's "Drive"

When he’s not too distracted by all that “star of stage and screen” bullshit, A.V. Club favorite Adam Scott periodically embraces his true calling in life: serving as a comedy/music podcaster, originally on Earwolf’s U Talkin’ U2 To Me, and now on its sequel series, R U Talkin’ R.E.M. RE: ME? In both shows, Scott gushes alongside Comedy Bang Bang’s Scott Aukerman about two of their favorite bands, rating their various albums, and revealing their personal connections to the music. (Also, they make a lot of incredibly stupid jokes, which is decidedly a feature, not a bug.)

Speaking of those connections, Scott revealed one that had apparently eluded him for years today, when he showed off a still from the music video for “Drive,” the lead single off of R.E.M.’s eighth studio album, Automatic For The People. And, hey, who’s that peeking out of the corner there (although not out of the spotlight, or else we wouldn’t be able to see him)? Why, it’s a little baby 1992-vintage Adam Scott. (Apparently it’s Parks And Rec secret cameo today here at The A.V. Club.)

Scott revealed that he was an extra on the video on the May 2 episode of R U Talkin’ R.E.M. RE ME?, but said that he’d never actually been able to spot himself in the video. The internet, of course, took that as a challenge, and so, just a few days later, we’re graced with this still of Scott’s distinctive smile.
