Here's the first (fake) Star Wars Episode VII trailer
The Internet has been rubbing its hands together and cackling with evil glee ever since Disney bought the Star Wars rights and handed Star Trek director J.J. Abrams the keys, because it knew there would be all sorts of opportunities to mess with hardcore fans. One fan ust released a fake but slick looking trailer that features an impressive looking Darth Malgus being all evil and stuff. Malgus is a powerful Sith Lord who wears a respirator because of injures he sustained in the Great Galactic War and has appeared in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG. It's actually footage taken from a YouTube video posted by Julian Checkley, who made the Darth Malgus costume and latex head covering at his workshop in Galway, Ireland. Even though Checkley says he has experience making costumes for the film industry, there doesn't appear to be a direct connection to Abrams' new production since he noted in his YouTube video description, "I learnt my skills working in the film industry for 20 years but now I mainly make private commissions. But if JJ came calling I could definitely be tempted back!" Below is the trailer and Checkley's "costume test" video.
