Here's the guy who's playing Eddie Murphy's son in that Beverly Hills Cop show

First reported by the Humor Mill—then ignored until the Humor Mill addressed the unsafe working conditions of its dick joke processors—Deadline has confirmed Brandon T. Jackson as the star of CBS' Beverly Hills Cop TV series that is increasingly more than just a way for Eddie Murphy to continue appearing in the news. As we've known for months now, Jackson will play Aaron Foley, whose attempts to outrun the legacy of his father, Axel Foley, basically begin and end with his refusal to have a cool, '80s action-movie name like "Axel," seeing as he pretty much invites direct comparison to his dad by taking up detective work in the city where his father was most famous for that. There Aaron will similarly "take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous" but in his own, more modern way, such as putting bananas in their iPads.

Murphy—producing alongside The Shield's Shawn Ryan, and still set to appear in the pilot and beyond—reportedly suggested Jackson himself, being a fan of his stand-up and work in films such as Tropic Thunder. And also, presumably, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, where Jackson played the offspring of a guy in a giant fat-suit, and Eddie Murphy was like, "I can't put my finger on it, but something tells me he's the one" while Harry Chapin's "Cat's In The Cradle" swelled in the background.
