Almost a year after it was first announced that Michael K. Williams will be playing the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, here’s your first glimpse of what that might look and sound like, besides crowded with The Wire fans saying, “Baby I Got Your Money… Man, money ain’t got no owners, only spenders!” to each other until they are escorted out of the theater. Williams recently dropped by Brooklyn Bowl for a Hurricane Sandy benefit, where he proceeded to channel the late Dirt McGirt on, appropriately, “Brooklyn Zoo,” video of which has finally made its way to YouTube, the Osiris of this shit we call the Internet.
The biopic Dirty White Boy—so named for the young, white, ostensibly dirty 22-year-old intern/ODB enabler whose perspective shapes the film—has yet to begin production or even officially nail down music rights, even though it’s been rumored that other members of the Wu-Tang Clan have already been courted to play themselves.
