Here's what you'll be eating and drinking at the A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party September 6-7. Also: win tickets!
Food-related spoilers ahead. Last year our big shindig surprised you with food vendors (and long beer lines—we're fixing that!), but those of you with the foresight to click on this post will have some advance knowledge of what will be available on September 6 and 7, when you'll be rocking with us. (And Young The Giant, Neko Case, Mavis Staples, The Hold Steady, The Walkmen, Superchunk, Trampled By Turtles, and so many more…) On the food truck front, we'll be joined by The Slide Ride, Tamale Spaceship, Taquero Fusion, Bridgeport Pasty, and Big Star. Cooking on site will be Goose Island Brew Pub, Urb Garden, and County BBQ, which is the latest venture from the folks who brought you MK, DMK Burger Bar, and Ada Street. For dessert, delicious ice cream from Jeni's, whose truck you may remember from our video shoot with The Melvins. (Watch it again, it's still epic.)
On the libations front, our friends at Lagunitas will be offering a pair of beers, one named for this very occasion: The Fusion 16 Hideout/A.V. Fest Ale (light and crisp, 4.9% ABV). We'll also have the more substantial Lagunitas IPA, with its 6.2% ABV. In addition, we'll have frozen Mike's Hard Lemonade in four flavors (lemonade, black-cherry lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and margarita). City Winery will provide city wine. For non-drinkers, Honest Tea and Fred Water.
In bad news for slow-pokes: $60 two-day passes are now SOLD OUT. A limited number of $70 two-day passes remain, as do single-day tickets for both days. For now, anyway. Purchase tickets here. Or perhaps you're feeling lucky? Our friends over at Threadless asked us to pick our favorite pop-culture-inspired shirts, and if you check out that page (and like it enough to share via Twitter), you might win some tickets to the show. See you a week from Friday.
