Here's what's delaying The Hobbit today: Fire destroys Peter Jackson's studio
As though watched by some all-seeing eye determined to derail his quest, Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit has suffered yet another setback—this time in the form of a devastating fire that destroyed the miniatures studio where Weta Workshop created scenes for the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and King Kong, and which was to be used again in the prequel that a wrathful universe simply will not allow. A spokesman for Jackson’s Wingnut Films said that he could not comment at this time on whether the loss of one of the only specialist miniatures shooting studios in the world would be a problem, possibly because he and the entire production company had suddenly come down with the plague.
