Here's who will be playing Andre Braugher's husband on Brooklyn Nine-Nine

One of the biggest mysteries Brooklyn Nine-Nine has established in its short time on the air, besides why Chelsea Peretti’s character hasn’t been fired, is who would play Kevin, the oft-mentioned yet never-seen husband to Andre Braugher’s Captain Holt. Would Kevin join the likes of Norm’s wife Vera on Cheersa favorite of creator Michael Schur’s—and just never be seen? Would Schur hold out for a stunt casting opportunity, like the sort-of-quest to get Bill Murray for the Mayor on Parks And Recreation? Would Schur make, like, 15 people exceedingly giddy and cast Homicide: Life On The Street’s Kyle Secor?

As it turns out, none of these things: TV Line reports that Schur has cast the role with Marc Evan Jackson, an actor known for his improv work and participation in celebrations of old-timey radio like Thrilling Adventure Hour and NPR, but may be best known to Parks fans for playing the lawyer who tried to buy out Rent-A-Swag on behalf of a client who definitely wasn’t Diddy. Jackson’s character will be introduced during an upcoming episode about a birthday party that’s held at Holt’s house, and presumably appear semi-regularly thereafter. Until he and Holt get divorced and he starts dating a guy played by Kyle Secor, because come on.
