Here's who's appearing in The Office finale and what they'll be doing

There are only four episodes of The Office left, meaning there only four more opportunities for the show to provide fitting closure to its myriad character arcs on the way to saying goodbye. And, as with Steve Carell’s final season, it’s doing so by also cramming in a lot of guest stars—most of these appearing in the May 16 one-hour series ender, all of whom have now been named via press release, in case you don’t like being surprised. If that’s you, you can now rest assured in the foreknowledge that the finale will see visits from Rachael Harris, Dakota Johnson, Joan Cusack, Ed Begley Jr., Malcolm Barrett, Matt Jones, Andy Buckley, and Bobby Ray Shafer alongside the returning Mindy Kaling, B.J. Novak, and Michael Schur, and that none of these people can now sneak up and rob you.

We also now have a synopsis of what’ll be happening, which is: “Months after the airing of the documentary, the workers of Dunder Mifflin, past and present, gather for a wedding and a final round of interviews. Mysteries are solved, hatchets are buried, pranks are prunked.” We now leave it open to you to theorize about whose wedding it will be (Angela and Dwight? Jan and Hunter? Oscar and Ed Begley Jr.?), as well as whether the absence of Steve Carell’s name from this list is confirmation he’s definitely not returning, like he’s always said, or confirmation that he obviously totally is.
