Herlock is an all-female Sherlock parody with a karaoke-induced mind palace

What if Sherlock and Watson were women? That’s the premise of Herlock, a gender-flipped Sherlock parody by production company Grumble Pack.

It turns out that a female Sherlock is not that different from the male one. She’s impossible to live with, has zero boundaries, and is a genius. The only major difference is that she gets into her “mind palace” by doing karaoke to Sixpence None The Richer. Similarly, Watson still has a crush on her therapist, and doesn’t get enough credit for being someone who was smart enough to finish medical school.

It’s not hard to imagine Sherlock as a woman, but it is hard to wrap your head around all these characters as Americans. Giving Sherlock Holmes an American accent is like having the NFL play games in London; people can and do do it, but it still feels weird.
