We're pretty sure this is fake fake fake—but what the hell, it's, er, Tuesday! Punknews is reporting that (formerly) jailbait Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has been tapped to play Plasmatics singer Wendy O. Williams in an upcoming biopic on the troubled punker's life. According to "producers," the casting of Panettiere is a move meant to "shock" audiences in fine Williams tradition—and indeed, nothing would be more shocking than seeing America's cheerleader wielding a chainsaw and blowing up police cars while wearing gaffer tape across her nipples. So far this rumor has yet to be substantiated by anyone more credible than the G4 Network, so we're going to go ahead and say this is probably a made-up story meant to poke fun at the recent casting of Kirsten Dunst as Debbie Harry. But hey, as long it hasn't been officially discredited yet, it gives us an excuse to post this (sadly it's the only available YouTube video of those legendary Tom Snyder appearances, since Plasmatics Media LLC had them all removed):
