Hey holy shit, this guy has an unbelievable McDonald’s drive-thru story
Sometimes you just have to double down on a bad idea. That’s what Tennessee-based fast-food enthusiast Josh Raby did after making a decision many of us have made, and most of us have regretted afterwards: Pulling into a McDonald’s drive-thru around 1 a.m. But Raby likely has mixed feelings about the interaction, because although it took him more than 40 minutes to get a chicken sandwich he didn’t even order, he got a pretty incredible story out of the deal.
Raby live-tweeted the entire interaction, which begins with the drive-thru employee saying, “Hey holy shit hello,” and ends with a cry for help from a defeated co-worker. (It’s embedded in its handy Storify version below.) And yeah, Raby could be making the whole thing up—he is a writer and director who recently created a webseries called Local Air. He tells BuzzFeed News that the whole thing is true, though, as well as clarifying that they messed up his chicken sandwich by adding lettuce. Which, given the circumstances, is no big deal.
