Hey nerds, Luke Skywalker's original lightsaber is going up for auction
Would you like to own Luke Skywalker’s original lightsaber? Do you have, oh, a minimum of $150,000 just collecting dust in your bank account? If so, how?! But also, you might be interested in what Fortune is calling an “unprecedented auction of memorabilia from the Star Wars galaxy.” Hollywood auction house Profiles In History is preparing to unleash a ton of items from the Star Wars franchise, including Luke’s OG lightsaber from 1977's A New Hope, which is expected to net at least $150,000, if not more (let’s be real, it’ll probably be way more).
Also up on the block: An original TIE fighter helmet, which Profiles In History estimates will bring in over $200,000, and numerous items from other sequels in the franchise, like C-3P0's hands (yes his hands) and an Imperial Army Scout Trooper helmet, both from Return of the Jedi. The auction house is also selling a Stormtrooper helmet that was worn on screen by some random dude in The Force Awakens, and was sullied by the signatures of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, and others.
If Star Wars isn’t your thing (it’s the trolls, right?), you might be interested in some of the other cinematic treasures up for bidding in the forthcoming auction, including various props from Aliens—like Sigourney Weaver’s dope Reebok high-tops.
