Hide your dogs: John Wick 3 is already in development
Given the furor over Chapter Two of the John Wick story, it’s hard to believe that it took seven months for Lionsgate to announce a sequel. We suppose it’s possible that directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski felt they’d made a good, standalone action flick that didn’t warrant being expanded into a franchise, no matter how many dogs they could rescue in real life to pretend to dispatch onscreen. But even without Leitch, Stahelski decided to move forward with a second installment that sends Keanu Reeves to Rome to show off his firearms prowess.
Now with Wick’s European vacation set to premiere February 20, it looks like Stahelski’s already working on a third film in the series. According to Collider, the director’s batting around ideas for John Wick: The Wickening (that’s our working title). Stahelski told the publication that Lionsgate asked his team if they could “come up with something. Winston’s [McShane] is a big part of the next one, so is Lance Reddick. We’ve got some ideas.” We hope this means we’ll finally see McShane’s assassins-hotel proprietor do something more threatening than locking the mini-bar.
