FX has landed yet another Oscar winner. The network—also the TV home base of Jessica Lange—revealed today that Hilary Swank is going to star alongside Donald Sutherland in Trust, Danny Boyle’s limited series about John Paul Getty III’s kidnapping. Swank is set to play the victim’s mother, Gail, described in a release as “determined and resourceful“ and essentially the only one fighting to retrieve her son. Swank’s portrayal will likely be competing against another acclaimed actress’ take on the same figure, as Michelle Williams is possibly going to play Gail Getty (née Harris) in a Ridley Scott film based on the same true story. Trust is set to premiere in January of next year.
