From MTV News: Hilly Kristal, founder of the legendary punk venue CBGB, died yesterday from lung cancer. He was 75. CBGB itself passed on last year after a long, drawn-out fight to keep the Manhattan mainstay open after getting hit with a staggering back-rent bill. Throughout the decades, CBGB nurtured everyone from Television and Patti Smith to Agnostic Front and Sick Of It All. No word on yet on whether Kristal's plans to open a new CBGB in Las Vegas will go forward.
