The Bronx apartment building where DJ Kool Herc more or less invented hip-hop at his parties isn't necessarily the greatest place to live, especially as it's being pulled from an affordable-housing program. Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, and assorted politicians gathered there Monday to bring attention to affordable housing. Also, the building's eligible for status as a historical landmark. (Associated Press)
