Horrible Bosses 2 trailer promises more charming felonies

Back for another round of the hilarity of escaping punishment for attempted murder, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis are all present and accounted for in this teaser for Horrible Bosses 2. This time the trio’s criminal acts that would seem reprehensible were they not so darn charming involve kidnapping the son (Chris Pine, glimpsed briefly) of an investor who’s wronged them (Christoph Waltz, glimpsed not at all). But mostly it involves repeating the things that worked about the first Horrible Bosses, including obligatory shoehorned-in appearances here from Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston—a character whose sexual depravity has been amplified to scatological levels, according to the rules of sequels. Anyway, as with 22 Jump Street, you can at least give the trailer points for lampshading the whole “white people acting like gangstas to an incongruous rap soundtrack” thing—though it remains to be seen whether that self-awareness carries over into the actual film.
