Horror anthology Tales Of Halloween lands Joe Dante, John Landis, and more
An upcoming horror anthology has landed some very excellent directors, though sadly, they’re appearing within the film, not behind the camera. Tales Of Halloween—no, not another V/H/S. No, not the next ABCs Of Death, either. Not Trick ’R Treat 2, XX, The Gathering, or… you know what? Let’s start again: Neil Marshall and Darren Bousman’s Tales Of Halloween has locked down horror directors John Landis, Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon, and Adam Green to make cameos.
The directors are actually just part of a very long list of names confirmed for the project. While we’ve already reported on the 11 directors who will be helming the 10 segments for the movie, it seems most of the cast for the whole thing has now been put together, too. Deadline has the complete list, but some of the more intriguing names include Pat Healy (Cheap Thrills, The Innkeepers); Lin Shaye (A Nightmare On Elm Street, Insidious); Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Carnivale); Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes); James Duval (Donnie Darko, The Doom Generation); and Barry Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hannah Montana: The Movie).
Tales Of Halloween will follow the happenings in a small American town one holiday night (Veteran’s Day, we’re assuming), as all manner of terrible things befall the various denizens. Let’s hope nobody in this particular anthology has to endure a fate as bad as sitting through V/H/S: Viral.
