House Of The Devil brings sexy, VHS back for home viewing

In one of the niftier, more creative publicity stunts in recent memory, the people behind the awesome early eighties-style shocker House Of The Devil are releasing one thousand limited edition VHS copies of the film, complete with retro clamshell packaging. Hopefully, one of these bad boys is waiting for me when I return to the office (today was, amazingly, a snow day where we got to work from home, one of the few advantages of the Chicago winter).

The unusual release is appropos given the film's loving recreation of the tone and tropes of early Reagan-era horror movies. You know a film has gotten all the details right when you're won over by the font in the opening credits.
