Howard Stern to stay on satellite radio, earn a lot of money for at least the next five years
In the wake of Howard Stern openly airing his grievances with Sirius/XM CFO David Frear (who had suggested that Stern’s contract would need to be renegotiated if he wanted to stay on the air) and declaring on Tuesday’s show, “I am not taking a fucking pay cut,” Stern announced today that he has successfully renewed his fucking agreement for another five fucking years, after coming to the conclusion that “the real innovators, the real geniuses are the people here at Sirius.” (Fuck you, scientists!) Anyway, Stern would not discuss how much his new contract was worth, or whether it was significantly more or less than the current $500 million-for-five-years deal to keep his program humming, only saying that it was “very fair.” He did, however, say “with almost certainty that this is my final five years on radio.” Well, keep at it, Howard. Maybe it’ll lead to something.
