Hugh Grant to be charmingly addled by spy stuff in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

With Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill on board to slip undistinguished into the background, going about their business without calling undue attention to themselves—and also star in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.—Guy Ritchie’s 1960s spy show update has now added Hugh Grant, thus fulfilling the spy movie’s need for a person to say dryly British things while wearing a suit. Grant will play the head of Britain’s Naval Intelligence—just a boy standing before the sea, asking it to love him and not let any terrorists in. As reported earlier, Hammer will play Illya Blondespy and Henry Cavill will play Napoleon GuyfromSuperman as they embark on missions that seem impossible, likely causing Hugh Grant to become ever so vexed and charismatically flustered, before everything works out and everybody looks simply dashing. Also, Grant is probably secretly the villain, because there’s no way he’s doing two of these.
