Hugh Jackman was so eager for a lot of violence and “fucks” to end up in Logan that he apparently settled for a reduced salary in order for the film to be R-rated. This report comes from Ain’t It Cool News’ Eric Vespe out of the Butt-Numb-A-Thon event in Austin where 40 minutes of the upcoming film screened. Director James Mangold attended the showing and relayed this anecdote to the audience.
Vespe explained that the movie, a take on the Old Man Logan storyline, features “full on berserker Wolverine (finally) and more f-bombs than Lebowski.” According to another journalist, who saw the footage last week at a 20th Century Fox preview, Professor X (Patrick Stewart) is doing his share of the cursing.
We don’t know exactly how much money Jackman lost, but we’re going to bet he’s doing fine financially. After all, Fox is already aware that an R-rated X-Men-related film can do perfectly well at the box office thanks to Deadpool. Hey, cussing superheroes can even wind up with some Golden Globes nominations.
