Hulk to smash some gods again in Thor: Ragnarok
Deadline is reporting that Mark Ruffalo is in talks to bring Dr. Bruce Banner and his green-eyed, green-skinned monster to the set of the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. Normally confined to the Avengers films, The Hulk doesn’t usually get to come out and play in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe—barring Ruffalo’s snoring cameo at the end of Iron Man 3—but it’s possible that everyone involved thought their little god-fight could use a dose of crowd-pleasing Hulk Smash action.
Ragnarok will be the big-budget Hollywood debut of What We Do In The Shadows co-director Taika Waititi, who’ll be applying his experience with supernatural protagonists to a film on a slightly grander scale. (We’re keeping our fingers crossed, though, that that Jemaine Clement-faced cat might make its way into the new movie’s mythological mix.) Written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, the film will presumably focus on Thor’s investigation into all those visions he had during the middle act of Age Of Ultron, when he spent, like, 10 minutes splashing around in a wading pool with Stellan Skarsgard. The movie is expected to debut, Hulk hopefully in tow, on July 28, 2017.
