Hulu cancels The Awesomes
Having finally surpassed its tolerance for boob-faced aliens and superhero sitcom tropes, Hulu has announced that it won’t be ordering another season of The Awesomes. As reported by Deadline, the streaming network has revealed that the third season of Seth Meyers’ tale of foul-mouthed misfit superheroes will be its last.
On Hulu, anyway; Meyers and his admittedly impressive cast—which includes Rashida Jones, Bobby Moynihan, Bill Hader, and a bunch of other veterans of SNL and MADtv—is reportedly shopping the project around, in the hopes that the story of Prock, Muscleman, and Hotwire might not end before its true, epic potential can be reached. If not, though, then three seasons on Hulu—whose only series of comparable length are the teen drama East Los High and the now-ended pop culture news show The Morning After—is still a pretty impressive run. (Truly, the Hulu candle doth burn brightly at both of its ends.)
