Hulu wants to spend more time with Harlots

The battle between London madams will continue, as Hulu has just green-lit a second season of Harlots. Moira Buffini and Alison Newman’s period drama about the flesh trade in the Big Smoke garnered mostly positive reviews, with many kudos going to Samantha Morton and Lesley Manville for their portrayals of pastel-swathed Georgian-era pimps. As the first season went on, Harlots struck a balance between its politically-charged themes and the crime drama that was just dying to get out. There’s currently no word on when season two will pick up in the show’s timeline, but we can expect new episodes in 2018.

The announcement was rolled out ahead of the streaming platform’s back-to-back-to-back panels for The Mindy Project, as well as new series Future Man, Marvel’s Runaways, and the Sarah Silverman-led I Love You, America.
