Ice Age sequel now has acceptable Jeremy Renner quotient, higher levels of Jennifer Lopez

As a reminder that the Ice Age franchise will be around long enough to show our children’s children what a polar ice cap used to look like, Fox has continued to swell the ranks of its all-star cast for the fourth installment. The new Ice Age: Continental Drift finds the established menagerie of Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Sean William Scott, and Josh Peck separated on the seas, where they meet new characters played by Aziz Ansari, Wanda Sykes, Keke Palmer, and hip-hop star Drake, as well as Jennifer Lopez, whose role comes as part of her overall American Idol contract. And because every franchise movie now requires some percentage of Jeremy Renner, he’ll also show up as “Gutt, a self-styled master of the high seas.” In addition to the film, Fox is also planning on debuting a Christmas TV special, a multiplayer online game, a mobile game, and potentially a touring Ice Age On Ice show—you know, because of all the ice.
