While American Idol is still among TV's most popular shows, this week's episode attracted its lowest number of viewers in five years, with 22.1 million. That's 1.2 million fewer than the previous low set last week. In all, Idol is down about 7 million viewers from last season. (A downturn that has led to at least one startingly brilliant theory explaining why.) Fox still won the night easily, though, with 14.1 million viewers vs. CBS's 10.5 million.
