If Jughead is to be trusted, tonight’s the night Riverdale’s murder is solved

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Thursday, May 4. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Riverdale (The CW, 9 p.m.): If you can’t trust Forsythe Jones III, who can you trust? In his interview with The A.V. Club, Riverdale’s paired-off, yet-to-eat-a-hamburger Jughead, Cole Sprouse, stated that we’d learn the identity of Jason Blossoms’ killer by the end of season one—specifically in the show’s 12th episode. Well, here we are, with a 12th episode titled “Anatomy Of A Murder,” and assuming we aren’t greeted by Saul Bass titles and a Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn score when we tune in tonight, we’re inclined to take Sprouse at his word. Unless this is all part of an elaborate prank being played by a former half of the hotel-dwelling tricksters from The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody, which would be too bad, because LaToya Ferguson is not as forgiving as Mr. Moseby.

Regular coverage

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8 p.m.)
Superstore (NBC, 8:00/8:30 p.m.): Season finale
Scandal (ABC, 9:01 p.m.)

Wild card

Hidden America With Jonah Ray (Seeso): The travel-show parody hosted by the most recent captive of the Satellite Of Love begins its second season on Seeso. As the tagline goes, the places Jonah Ray visits are real, but the people he meets there are not—though in this round those people happen to include honest-to-goodness TV traveler Anthony Bourdain, who doesn’t seem happy about Ray horning in on his territory.
