If Samantha Bee has time for two Full Frontals this week, you have time to vote
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, November 5. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Full Frontal With Samantha Bee (TBS, 9 p.m.): It would seem that Samantha Bee does not trust us to vote. (Makes sense.) She and Full Frontal released a game called This Is Not A Game: The Game, which allows people to answer political trivia to win money and which also sends you voting reminders. In her last episode, she dressed up like a banana to say, “I hope you find voting a-peeling.” She also announced that there would be not one, but two Full Frontals this week: “One on Monday to yell at you to vote, and one on Wednesday to yell at you for not voting.” Well, today, Monday, is Election Day Eve, so she’s going to yell at you to vote. Expect an episode that, like its fellows, includes some damn good jokes, plenty of simmering rage, and a general tone that feels something like this:
Regular coverage
DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (The CW, 9 p.m.)
Wild card
John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons (Netflix, 3:01 a.m.): If you only know National Treasure John Leguizamo as the guy from Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet (or the guy from Spawn, or To Wong Foo, or any of the other many, many films and TV shows he’s done), you’re missing out on a huge part of his career, and some really good viewing besides. Latin History For Morons is merely the latest solo performance piece from Leguizamo, a great writer who also happens to be great at performing the things he writes (see also: Freak, Ghetto Klown, Mambo Mouth, etc.). The New York Times called this show, which Netflix obligingly captured on film, a “long and often hilarious parade of injustice, stretching from Peru under the Inca to Texas under Trump.” Sounds like it might also be pretty good election eve viewing.
