If this whole documentary is just Liam Gallagher talking shit about life, we're pretty here for it

Not to discount the man’s talents as a musician, but it’s an undeniable fact that Liam Gallagher is one of the pre-eminent shit-talkers of the musical world. (This is, after all, the man who once dubbed his much-feuded-with little brother Noel both a “potato,” and “a man with a fork in a world full of soup.”) Whether he’s dishing on politics, or addressing a “dickhead” who threw a fish at him mid-concert, Gallagher can talk at least as well as he can play, which is what makes the new documentary about him, Liam Gallagher: As It Was, such an exciting prospect for fans of his particular brand of free-form, frequently funny vitriol.

Case in point: The new trailer for the film, in which Gallagher meanderingly monologues about everyone who expected him to be dead by 2019—“I don’t think it’s going to happen, lads, I think I’m gonna stick it out”—and notes that “I’m not doing this to be more famous, I’m fucking famous enough, you know what I mean.” We do, Liam. We do.

As It Was has yet to set a U.S. release date, but arrives for British audiences on June 7.
