IFC has picked up Portlandia for a second season, giving another 10-episode order to the Fred Armisen-Carrie Brownstein satire of fixed-gear fauxhemians, organic obsessives, and people who put birds on everything. The next batch will premiere in January 2012, at which point Portland will have moved on to the next thing and completely made itself over into something way cooler, possibly involving large-scale origami or living underwater.
