IFC’s trailer for The Spoils Before Dying: jazz, mystery, and Maya Rudolph’s ghost
If you’ve seen The Spoils Of Babylon, IFC’s parody of cheesy soap opera miniseries, then you already know just how ridiculous everything got. Well, it looks like mysterious author Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell) is back, and ready to unleash another masterpiece of overheated bloviating upon the world. The Spoils Before Dying enters the jazz age with a hep cat piano player (Michael K. Williams) investigating a murder. Against some very cheap backdrops, Williams’ amateur gumshoe rides a motorcycle, trades metaphors with cops, and has a nice chat with Maya Rudolph’s corpse. Just don’t bring up those big-money gigs; he don’t dig those big-money gigs.
