Impossible dream? Terry Gilliam's Don Quixote falls through again.

From the tilting-at-windmills department, Variety has an interview with director Terry Gilliam (behind the paywall, naturally) in which Gilliam admits that his on-again/off-again big-screen version of Don Quixote is, again, off. After a disastrous first attempt (captured in the documentary Lost In La Mancha), Gilliam seemed to be back on track with a proposed 3D version of the story, starring Robert Duvall and Ewan McGregor. But Gilliam tells Variety that the financing has collapsed. For now, anyway. Gilliam still hopes to resume production at some point. We're not going to lie; we'd love to see whatever Gilliam comes up with, if he gets to come with it. But what's that word that means "exceedingly idealistic, unrealistic and impractical?"
