In effort to keep Avatar industry alive, James Cameron considering fourth Avatar film as a prequel 

These days, James Cameron is only interested in two things, Avatar and fish, and we're almost all out of fish. Thus, the man who declared that he is now and forever in "the Avatar business" has already begun thinking ahead to what comes after the back-to-back Avatar 2 and 3 he's currently still writing, lest the Avatar business go the way of the American auto industry. It would be a prequel, naturally, going back to "the early expeditions of Pandora, and kind of what went wrong with the humans and the Na'vi and what that was like to be an explorer and living in that world," Cameron tells MTV News of the prospective film, saying this could then lead into a whole new Avatar series that—while Cameron says it would not be explicitly "imitating Star Wars"—would follow that series' sense of filling in the back story as "a logical thing to do," rather than just stopping and letting it be. "The only thing left to do is go back to see what it was like on those first expeditions, and create some new characters that then become legacy characters in later films," Cameron says, his words weighted with the responsibility of keeping displaced Avatar-workers off the unemployment lines, offering to create big preachy blue people for food.
